Privacy Policy

Smart Spender

Smart Spender ("the App") is a personal finance tracker built and operated by LocalCoreDev ("we", "us"). The App is designed to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, what the App does and does not do with your information.

The short version

• The App works fully offline. It has no servers, no backend, and no analytics.
• We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal or financial data.
• All of your data stays on your device, and your amounts are stored encrypted.
• You are always in control and can export or delete your data at any time.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect any personal information. The App has no account system, no sign-up, and does not send your data anywhere. Everything you enter — wallets, transactions, budgets, assets, liabilities, categories, and notes — is stored only in local storage on your own device.

How your data is stored and protected

• Your data is saved locally on your device using an encrypted on-device database (AES-256 encryption).
• The encryption key is held in your device's secure storage (Keychain / Keystore).
• The App can be protected with your device biometrics (fingerprint / Face ID) and a PIN fallback.
• Because your data never leaves your device, only you (and anyone with access to your unlocked device) can see it.

Device permissions we use

The App requests only the permissions it needs to function, and uses them solely on your device:

• Biometrics — to lock and unlock the App with fingerprint or Face ID.
• Notifications & alarms — to show optional local reminders to log your expenses. These are generated on your device; nothing is sent externally.
• Photos / camera (optional) — only if you choose to attach a receipt or item photo to a transaction. These images stay on your device.

Exporting and sharing your data

You can export your data as PDF or CSV files. When you do, the file is created on your device and you choose where it goes using your device's standard share options. We never receive a copy of anything you export. Once you share a file with another app or person, it is handled under that destination's terms, not ours.

Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Pro") that unlocks additional features. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment details (such as your card number). Google's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. The App only stores a simple flag on your device indicating that Pro has been unlocked.

Third-party services

The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third party involved is Google Play, and only for processing the optional Pro purchase described above.

Children's privacy

The App does not collect any data from anyone, including children. It is suitable for general audiences and contains no data collection that would identify any user.

Data deletion

Because all data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time from within the App (for example, the "Wipe All Data" option) or by uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored data.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in an App update where appropriate.
